Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Scientific Data Curator to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong academic background in biological sciences, with practical knowledge in molecular biology, biochemistry, and microbiology. This role involves curating, validating, and organizing scientific data, particularly related to biomarkers, to support research, analytics, and decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curate and standardize biological and clinical data with a focus on biomarkers.
  • Perform literature searches using PubMed and related scientific databases to extract and validate relevant scientific information.
  • Interpret and annotate scientific articles, clinical findings, and experimental data.
  • Maintain and update scientific databases ensuring data integrity and compliance with quality standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including bioinformatics, data science, and medical writing teams.
  • Maintain high-quality documentation using Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Support the development and updating of internal databases and data dictionaries.
  • Maintain and update scientific databases ensuring data integrity and compliance with quality standards.
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of curated data in line with established guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum: Masters degree in Biological Sciences (e.g., Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology).
  • Desirable: Ph.D. in a related discipline.

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong theoretical and practical knowledge in molecular biology, biochemistry, and microbiology.
  • Understanding of biomarker-related concepts in both preclinical and clinical settings.
  • Proficiency in using scientific databases (e.g., PubMed, ClinicalTrials.gov).
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

Preferred Experience:

  • Prior experience in scientific curation, literature mining, or clinical data interpretation is a plus.
  • Familiarity with data management standards in biomedical research is advantageous
