Job Description
Job Summary:
We are looking for a Technical Writer with strong experience in creating and managing product documentation for engineering systems. The role involves developing structured, high-quality manuals and supporting documentation for aftermarket and service operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, write, edit, and maintain product user documentation including Operator, Maintenance, Service & Repair Manuals, and Spare Parts Manuals.
- Develop and manage content using CMS systems and XML-based authoring tools with DITA structuring.
- Create documentation in a structured publication environment ensuring consistency and accuracy.
- Develop end-to-end spare parts manuals, including aftermarket spare parts and kit documentation.
- Interpret Mechanical GA drawings and convert technical data into clear documentation.
- Understand and document hydraulic and electrical schematics.
- Collaborate with engineering, service, and product teams to gather and validate technical information.
- Manage BOM/structure references using Teamcenter or SAP (preferred).
Required Skills:
- Strong experience in technical writing for engineering products.
- Hands-on experience with CMS, XML editing tools, and DITA-based authoring.
- Proficiency in authoring tools such as Adobe InDesign, FrameMaker, or similar.
- Familiarity with illustration/design tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, or CorelDRAW.
- Working knowledge of 3D CAD tools such as Siemens NX.
- Ability to read and interpret Mechanical GA drawings.
- Understanding of spare parts documentation and aftermarket processes.
- Ability to interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in construction equipment, mining equipment, or automobile industry.
- Familiarity with Teamcenter BOM/Structure Manager or SAP.
