Job Description
Role overview,
An Electronics Production Manager in defence sector oversees the end-to-end manufacturing process of critical electronic products, ensuring efficiency, quality, and timely on time delivery. This role demands precision, compliance with defence standards, and coordination across engineering, quality, design and other cross functional department to deliver high-reliability products under strict timelines.
Key responsibilities,
- Oversee production of defence-grade electronic systems with end to end responsibility and ensure compliance of defence manufacturing & testing standards. IPC 610.IPC 620, JS55555, MIL Std.
- Coordinate with cross functional departments like design,quality,product management,supply chain to meet stringent performance and reliability benchmarks.
- Manage production schedules, resource planning, and cost control in alignment with defence contracts.
- Troubleshoot production issues and drive root cause analysis.
- Mentor and supervise production team,fostering a culture of accountability and growth.
- Responsible for process optimization to improve yield,reduce waste and enhance throughput.
- Responsible to evaluate and adopts new tools, automation, digitalization to modernize production lines.
- Responsible for internal and external audit.
- Able to do capital expenditure(CapEx) management,annual budget planning,resource allocation,cost estimation & control etc.
Required skills and competencies,
- Technical skills-
- Knowledge of assembly,testing of electronics unit & PCB assembly.
- Knowledge of analog circuit ,digital circuit ,wire harness,schematic,drawnings etc.
- Knowledge of Environmental stress screening(ESS) and ESS specifications.
- MIL standards
- Safety standards
- Troubleshooting,debugging units and cards
- Quality control(IPC,ISO)
- ERP system,PLM system,Power Bi
- Knowledge of ESD precautions
- Leadership & Soft Skills-
- Strategic planning & execution
- Team leadership & mentoring
- Communication with cross-functional teams
- Decision-making under pressure
