Role Overview
We are looking for a Data Scientist / Machine Learning Engineer with strong expertise in building machine learning models from scratch, working with multilingual and multivariate data, developing algorithms, and implementing speech-to-text systems. The candidate should also have hands-on experience in fine-tuning pre-trained models for domain-specific applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop machine learning models from scratch using core mathematical and statistical principles
- Build and optimize multivariate models handling complex, high-dimensional datasets
- Develop and implement custom algorithms for predictive analytics and AI systems
- Work with multilingual datasets for NLP tasks such as classification, translation, and understanding
- Build and deploy speech-to-text systems for processing audio files
- Fine-tune pre-trained models (e.g., transformers, deep learning models) for specific use cases
- Use frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow for scalable solutions
- Evaluate model performance and improve accuracy using advanced techniques
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to deploy models into production
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, or related field
Technical Skills
- Strong programming skills in Python
- Deep understanding of:
- Machine learning algorithms
- Statistics and linear algebra
- Experience building models from scratch (without heavy reliance on libraries)
- Knowledge of NLP and multilingual modeling
- Experience with audio processing and speech recognition (e.g., Whisper or similar)
- Hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow
- Experience with fine-tuning large models (LLMs, transformers)
- Experience deploying ML models as APIs using FastAPI or Flask, with basic knowledge of Docker for packaging.
- Familiarity with cloud deployment and MLOps tools like Amazon Web Services or MLflow for model versioning and monitoring.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with transformer models (e.g., BERT, GPT-like architectures)
- Knowledge of multilingual NLP systems
- Experience deploying models using APIs or cloud platforms
- Familiarity with big data tools (Spark, Hadoop)
- Understanding of MLOps and model lifecycle management
