Job Description

This Position reports to:

SCM Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to support regional and global sourcing initiatives either under the leadership of Supply Chain Manager or independently if under a defined threshold. Each day, you will be responsible for developing, planning and implementing SCM strategy focused on optimizing costs, quality, delivery and reliability of suppliers and supplied products for an assigned category or group of categories. Ensure execution in accordance with Company and Supply Base Management instructions and procedures.

This role is contributing to the Motion business for IEC Low Voltage Division based in Bangalore, India

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Leveraging the Continuous Improvement Process Sourcing (CIPS) process, implementing effective sourcing strategies in line with business strategy ensuring that the supply base/suppliers have the capability and capacity to meet current and future business requirements. Negotiating agreements with main suppliers, and periodically renews price lists, terms and conditions leading supplier negotiation to meet optimum pricing.
  • Adapting corporate contractual framework to the local business needs. Recommending frame agreements to management and executing upon approval. Providing ongoing oversight and contract management with suppliers Ensuring identification, investigation, and selection of appropriate suppliers (focusing on quality, delivery, cost and sustainability) in accordance with company policies. Defining and establishing local standard agreements with all major suppliers.
  • Being responsible for supplier on-boarding, supplier qualification, supplier classification supplier performance evaluation processes, tool management to be managed Applying and implementing SCM standards, tools, and processes focused on business continuity for the assigned commodity or group of commodities. (Supplier Risk Management).
  • Contributing to and participating in setting and implementing budget and targets within the framework. Ensuring the Category sourcing performance targets are achieved. (Cost Reduction, Cash Improvement, Quality PPM, Supplier OTD etc).

Qualifications for the role

  • 10 to 15 years of experience in supply chain management/ sourcing.
  • Full time Diploma/Engineering in Mechanical field with experience in SAP.
  • Ensures integrity and compliance with ABB values and ethics in all activities.
  • Must be good at strategic sourcing skill. Sound knowledge in commodity working in mechanical products and New Product Development activity.
  • Good at Negotiation, new vendor development, SCM Policy Implementation. Collaboration with Global Commodity SCM Team. Focusing on Cost Reduction of Product
