Business Development Manager Industrial Interface Products
Location
Pune (HO) Travel: Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka
CTC Band
Rs. 8.00 12.00 Lpa fixed + variable pay linked to revenue and gross margin targets
Role Purpose
This role owns the end-to-end commercial responsibility for the Industrial Interface Products portfolio (RELPOL, STEGO, LUMBERG) and the full Manufacturing range . The incumbent will drive new account acquisition, deepen existing customer relationships, manage distributor partnerships, and deliver revenue and gross margin targets.
Role split: 60% new business development (hunter), 40% key account management and deepening ( farmer ). This is not a relationship-maintenance role measurable growth is the primary expectation.
Key Responsibilities
A. Revenue & Business Development
- Own and achieve quarterly and annual revenue and gross margin targets for the assigned portfolio across the designated geography.
- Identify, qualify, and develop new accounts OEMs, EPC contractors, panel builders, and industrial automation integrators.
- Execute structured account planning: maintain a rolling 90-day opportunity pipeline with minimum 3x coverage of quarterly target.
- Drive product demonstrations, techno-commercial presentations, and trial orders for new product introductions.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and annual rate contracts within CFO-approved authority levels. Margins below 18% require Management approval.
B. Interface Products Portfolio RELPOL / STEGO / LUMBERG
- RELPOL (Electromechanical relays, contactors, relay modules): Primary targets panel builders, OEM switchgear manufacturers, control panel assemblers. Push for approved vendor status with large industrial OEMs.
- STEGO (Enclosure climate control heaters, thermostats, cooling units, condensation heaters): Primary targets enclosure manufacturers, automation integrators, electrical panel builders. Position STEGO as standard specification at key OEMs.
- LUMBERG (Industrial connectors, circular connectors, M12/M8 connectors): Primary targets machine tool OEMs, automotive Tier-1/2 suppliers, robotics integrators, material handling OEMs.
- Maintain and grow active distributor network for Interface products; conduct minimum 2 joint customer visits per distributor per month.
C. Cross-Sell Mandate
- Actively promote and sell the Manufacturing range to Interface product customers this is a core cross-sell responsibility, not an optional add-on.
- Coordinate with PC-02 ( Manufacturing) commercial team for technical specifications, delivery schedules, and site commissioning requirements.
- Submit qualified leads to PC-02 with full customer context (application, specs, budget, timeline). Track conversion. Cross-sell KPI is part of variable pay structure.
D. Application Sales Support
- Provide market intelligence and sales support to the Application Sales team and Interface product applications.
- Act as the commercial interface between field application engineers and customers during product evaluation and qualification.
E. CRM and Reporting Discipline
- Maintain 100% of customer interactions, pipeline opportunities, and order records in Zoho CRM from May 31, 2026 (go-live date). No exceptions.
- Submit weekly activity summary: customer visits, proposals submitted, orders won/lost, competitive intelligence.
- Participate in monthly PC-01 / PC-02 sales review with pipeline, forecast, and account health data.
Qualifications & Experience
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Education
B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation (preferred). Diploma with strong field track record considered.
Total Experience
Minimum 4 years in B2B technical sales or business development in industrial electrical, automation, or interface products.
Industry Background
Switchgear / Panel building / Industrial automation / Interface components / Connectors / Industrial OEM sales. Direct experience with RELPOL, STEGO, or LUMBERG products is a strong advantage.
CRM / Tools
Prior use of any CRM tool (Zoho, Salesforce, equivalent). MS Excel proficiency for commercial proposals and costing.
Language
Marathi, Hindi, English all three required. Kannada or Gujarati is an advantage for southern/western markets.
Technical Competencies Required
- Working knowledge of electromechanical relays, contactors, and relay modules (RELPOL or equivalent brand).
- Understanding of industrial enclosure climate control, thermal management, and condensation prevention products (STEGO or equivalent).
- Familiarity with circular and industrial connectors and field wiring standards (LUMBERG or equivalent).
- Ability to read single-line diagrams, panel layouts, and bills of materials.
- Basic understanding of System integration needs in industrial automation.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint for proposals, costing sheets, and pipeline management.
Behavioural Competencies
- Hunter mindset: Self-initiating in prospecting. Not dependent on inbound leads or existing relationships to generate revenue.
- Commercial acumen: Defends margins under customer pressure. Does not discount without management approval. Understands contribution margin.
- High accountability: Owns the outcome (revenue, margin) not just the activity (calls, visits).
- Team orientation: Works collaboratively with Inside Sales, Sales, and PC-02 manufacturing team.
- Integrity: Follows pricing authority levels and CFO-approved discount structures without exception.
