Job Description
Job Title : Jr.Cloudops Engineer.
Key Responsibilities:
Shift & Roster Support:
- Work in a 24/7 rotational shift environment (weekly or monthly rotations) as part of a structured cloud ops team.
- Participate in shift handoff calls, ensuring accurate status updates and clear documentation for incoming shifts.
- Support on-call rotations and assist senior engineers during critical incidents.
Operational & Technical Execution:
- Actively participate in technical incident calls, assisting in troubleshooting and coordinating with relevant teams under the guidance of a shift lead.
- Perform hands-on troubleshooting of issues across Linux OS, applications, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, OCI).
- Follow established operational processes and contribute to the adoption of new tools and technologies within the team.
Process & Quality Adherence:
- Operate within ITIL frameworks, including Incident, Change, and Problem Management processes.
- Maintain ticket quality standards and contribute toward meeting SLO/SLA/MTTR targets.
- Assist in updating and maintaining operational dashboards and runbooks for tracking KPIs and system health.
Learning & Collaboration:
- Proactively identify personal skill gaps and participate in training programs to grow technical capabilities.
- Collaborate closely with peers and senior engineers to resolve complex issues and share knowledge.
- Contribute to team consistency by following shift management guidelines and standard operating procedures.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- 25 years of hands-on experience in a cloud or IT operations support environment.
- Working knowledge of Linux administration and basic-to-intermediate troubleshooting skills.
- Practical experience with at least one major cloud platform AWS, Azure, or OCI.
- Familiarity with application support concepts and multi-tiered architectures.
- Basic scripting ability in Python or Shell for automation and operational tasks.
- Understanding of ITIL concepts, particularly around Incident and Change Management.
- Good communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate issues and updates during incident calls.
- Ability to work effectively in a team under pressure, with a proactive and ownership-driven mindset.
Desired Qualifications:
- ITIL Foundation certification (or willingness to pursue it).
- Associate-level cloud certification (e.g., AWS Cloud Practitioner, AWS SysOps Administrator, AZ-104).
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
