Job Description
The Site Engineer Infrastructure and Administration is responsible for managing and supervising infrastructure projects, renovations, and maintenance activities across branches and facilities of the organization. This role involves ensuring the quality and timely execution of construction and repair works, maintaining hygiene and operational standards, and coordinating with internal teams, landlords, vendors, and contractors.The Site Engineer will monitor site progress and ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Infrastructure Requirements
- Serve as the technical lead on all infrastructure-related projects for MFL and group companies.
- Oversee periodic repair and renovation work in existing branches and group company facilities.
- Conduct regular branch visits to assess maintenance needs and address hygiene requirements. Coordinate with vendors and Head Office (HO) to execute maintenance and repair tasks efficiently.
- Work closely with Zonal Infrastructure Managers to resolve complaints related to Complain Management Services (CMS) & other infrastructure concerns.
- Identify and manage local vendors to provide support for repairs and maintenance work.
- Oversee vendor contracts to ensure quality service delivery.
- Supervise and coordinate the execution of ongoing and upcoming construction, renovation, and infrastructure improvement projects and ensure all projects are completed on time, within budget, and adhere to quality standards.
- Identify and address electrical, plumbing, and carpentry issues with local vendor support.
Branch Expansion, Shifting and Consolidation
- Collaborate closely with Zonal Infra Managers to address requirements for new branch setups, shifting, mergers, renovations, and ongoing maintenance.
- Prepare or review branch layouts, align with operational needs, share with landlords for consent, and vet contractor site plans before HO approval.
- Liaise with landlords to ensure incorporation of their scope of work in new branch projects.
- Supervise the construction of Strong Rooms as per RBI specifications and organizational standards.
- Coordinate with Strong Room Door vendors and contractors to ensure timely and accurate installation of Strong Room doors.
- Oversee all civil works, plumbing, interior and exterior finishing, structured cabling, electrical installations, and safety measures (e.g., mesh/grill protection).
- Ensure all works align with approved plans, Bills of Quantities (BOQ), and quality standards.
- Ensure smooth and efficient handover of merger or shifting sites to landlords (LLs), addressing all concerns and completing agreed-upon requirements.
Cost, Quality and Quantity control, Billing
- Ensure materials used meet the quality standards specified in the Work Order.
- Obtain prior approval from field teams and the Head Office for additional works outside the scope of the Work Order.
- Conduct joint measurements with contractors to verify work progress and accuracy.
- Monitor and supervise site work for group companies as required, ensuring timely and efficient project completion.
Coordination and reporting
- Effectively coordinate with field teams to support activities in existing branches, new locations, and merger sites.
- Prepare and share regular work progress reports with relevant stakeholders.
- Arrange Handing Over Certificates (HOC) from landlords for completed projects.
- Obtain No Objection Certificates (NOC) from landlords for merger sites.
- Travel pan-India as required to address urgent project needs or exigencies.

- Managing infrastructure and maintenance needs for a branch network larger than the industry average
- Handling branches in widely spread-out and remote locations, which adds complexity to logistics and supervision.
- Reliance on local vendors for immediate support, leading to potential variability in quality and response times.
- Lack of centralized Repair & Maintenance (R&M) and housekeeping service agency contracts, resulting in inconsistent service levels and additional coordination efforts.
KEY DECISION
- Choosing and coordinating with local vendors for immediate support in small-scale repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Prioritizing and scheduling site visits, monitoring progress, and addressing bottlenecks to ensure timely completion.
- Vetting and recommending site layouts and plans for approval by the Head Office.
- Addressing site-level issues, including coordination with landlords for handover certificates (HOC) and no-objection certificates (NOC).
- Deciding on resource allocation and collaboration with Zonal Infra Managers and field teams for seamless project execution.
- Ensuring all works adhere to regulatory guidelines, such as RBI specifications for strong room construction and other safety standards.
