Position Overview


The Personal Banker (Deputy Manager) is responsible for managing customer relationships, providing tailored banking solutions, achieving sales targets, and ensuring superior customer service. The role involves developing and deepening customer connections by understanding their financial needs and offering appropriate products from the banks retail portfolio.


Key Responsibilities


1. Customer Relationship Management

  • Act as the primary point of contact for walk-in and existing customers.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with high-potential clients.
  • Provide assistance with account-related queries, service requests, and financial advisory.

2. Sales & Business Development

  • Achieve monthly and quarterly targets across liabilities, assets, insurance, and investment products.
  • Cross-sell and upsell banking products such as savings accounts, fixed deposits, credit cards, personal loans, insurance, and mutual funds.
  • Generate leads through customer interactions and local market outreach.
  • Participate in branch-level campaigns and promotional activities.

3. Operational Excellence

  • Ensure error-free processing of customer transactions and documentation.
  • Adhere to banking regulations, internal policies, KYC/AML guidelines, and audit standards.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to provide swift resolution to customer concerns.

4. Risk & Compliance

  • Maintain data accuracy and confidentiality as per regulatory norms.
  • Monitor customer accounts for unusual activities and report red flags.
  • Ensure 100% compliance in all branch operations related to customer onboarding and servicing.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Sales-driven mindset with the ability to meet targets.
  • Good understanding of retail banking products and financial services.
  • Problem-solving ability with customer-first approach.
  • Basic proficiency in MS Office and banking systems.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Graduate/Postgraduate in any discipline (preferably in finance, business, or commerce).
  • 24 years of experience in retail banking, customer service, or financial sales.
  • Experience handling customer portfolios and achieving sales targets is preferred.
