Job Description
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Ensure that Sodexo is in compliance with state and local Sales/Use & Property Tax regulations
- Involvement in entire sales/use tax compliance function including preparing various states return filings, account reconciliations, and tax analyses, return review
- Serve as compliance contact for inquiries from internal and external customers.
- Assist with completion of various states refund claims
- Work with the field and other departments to increase understanding of the sales and use tax process and assist as needed with sales and use tax issues
- Assist with property tax compliance functions
- Review contracts and proposals as needed to ensure compliance with sales and use tax laws
- Maintain and update Vertex, SAP, and GTD as necessary
- Participate and lead various projects within the department and organization
- Develop and implement process improvements
- Implement tax savings and planning initiatives
Minimum Education/Experience Required:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting preferred
- Minimum of 4 years sales tax experience - knowledge of multi-state sales/use tax laws preferred
- Vertex/GTD/SAP experience preferred
Minimum Training/Knowledge/Skills Required:
- Strong technical and analytical skills
- Must be well organized
- Must be able to meet strict deadlines
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills with ability to communicate with all levels of management
- Demonstrated problem solving skills and customer service orientation
- Excellent computer skills Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work in a team environment
- High degree of initiative
- Travel as necessary
