Job Summary

This Test Lead role focuses on planning and executing high quality testing for enterprise Mainframe and SAP MDM NW GDS solutions in a hybrid work model. The role involves coordinating test activities across IBM TPF and related platforms ensuring robust defect prevention efficient test cycles and reliable releases that support business critical travel intermediary processes.


Responsibilities

Strong Travel domain exposure across Reservations RES PSS Ticketing Fares and Pricing with hands on understanding of high volume transactional flows

Proven TPF zTPF mainframe knowledge including TPF OS internals runtime behaviour TPFDF TPF files and related tooling trace capabilities supporting critical production workflows

Solid working knowledge of GDS reservation ecosystems and common artifacts like PNR SSR TTY and end to end booking lifecycle within reservation systems

Comfortable with complex integration landscapes around Offer and Order style constructs and hybrid tech stacks including TPF Linux Windows mixes and legacy mainframe components enabling effective troubleshooting and modernization conversations

  • Drive end to end test planning for Mainframe and SAP MDM NW GDS applications by defining scope timelines environments and entry exit criteria to ensure predictable delivery of high quality releases.
  • Coordinate day to day test execution across Mainframe and IBM TPF components by assigning tasks monitoring progress and resolving blockers to maintain efficient and stable test cycles.

  • Design comprehensive functional regression and integration test scenarios tailored to Mainframe SAP MDM NW GDS and IBM TPF workflows to validate complex business rules and data integrity.
  • Create detailed test cases and reusable test data sets aligned to business requirements and system specifications to ensure traceability coverage and repeatable validation outcomes.
  • Execute manual test cases for critical Mainframe SAP MDM NW GDS and IBM TPF features while accurately logging results to provide clear evidence of system behavior and readiness.
  • Identify log and track defects using enterprise test management tools by capturing precise reproduction steps impact assessment and priority to support rapid resolution.
  • Collaborate closely with developers business analysts and operations teams in a hybrid work setup to clarify requirements review defects and agree on acceptance criteria for each release.
  • Review and refine test scenarios based on production incidents and user feedback to strengthen regression coverage and reduce recurrence of defects in business critical areas.
  • Contribute to risk based testing by prioritizing high impact Mainframe and SAP MDM NW GDS modules so that test efforts focus on areas that most affect customer experience and business continuity.
  • Validate system behavior across integrated travel intermediary workflows when applicable by checking data consistency process sequencing and interface stability end to end.
  • Prepare clear test summary reports including coverage metrics defect statistics and release readiness assessments to enable informed go or no go decisions by stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior testers on best practices for Mainframe and IBM TPF testing including job monitoring batch validation and data verification to uplift overall team capability.
  • Ensure adherence to organizational quality standards and compliance guidelines by following established test processes documentation practices and audit requirements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives by proposing enhancements to test design automation opportunities and environment usage to reduce cycle time and improve quality.

    • Qualifications

  • Possess hands on experience in testing Mainframe based applications including working with JCL data files and batch processes to validate end to end transactional flows.
  • Demonstrate practical exposure to SAP MDM NW GDS testing such as data synchronization validation master data governance rules and interface checks between systems.
  • Apply knowledge of IBM TPF environments by validating transaction processing performance stability and resilience of core travel or reservation platforms where applicable.
  • Utilize defect management and test management tools to maintain organized test assets metrics and traceability from requirements through execution and closure.
  • Show familiarity with travel intermediary domain concepts such as booking flows inventory management and partner integrations which helps in understanding real world use cases.
  • Exhibit strong analytical and problem solving skills to investigate complex defects interpret logs and collaborate with technical teams to reach root cause conclusions.
  • Communicate clearly in spoken and written form with distributed teams in a hybrid model to share test findings status updates and risk assessments in an easily understandable manner.
  • Adapt to structured processes and documentation standards followed by global organizations including version control peer reviews and compliance checks.
  • Preferably hold exposure to basic automation or scripting techniques on Mainframe or related platforms which can contribute to improved efficiency in repetitive test activities.
