Position Overview
We are looking for a passionate and skilled GCP Data Engineer to join our Data & AI team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in building scalable data platforms, modern data pipelines, and cloud-native analytics solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Experience with Vertex AI is a plus.
Location: Pune, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Indore, or open to discussion based on candidate preference and business requirements.
Experience
- 6+ years of experience in Data Engineering, ETL/ELT, Analytics Engineering, Data Warehouse Development, or Big Data ecosystems.
- Minimum 4+ years of hands-on experience with GCP Data Services.
Must-Have Skills
- Strong expertise in SQL and Python.
- Hands-on experience with BigQuery, including datasets, tables, views, partitioning, clustering, query optimization, and cost management.
- Experience building batch and streaming pipelines using Dataflow / Apache Beam.
- Strong Spark/PySpark experience on Dataproc or equivalent big data platforms.
- Experience with Pub/Sub or similar event-streaming technologies.
- Expertise in Cloud Composer (Airflow) for workflow orchestration.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and performance optimization.
- Experience in ETL/ELT design, development, and production support.
- Knowledge of data quality checks, reconciliation, schema validation, monitoring, alerting, retries, and backfills.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and deployment automation.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in production environments.
Good-to-Have Skills
- Experience with Google Vertex AI, Generative AI, MLOps, or AI-powered data solutions.
- Dataform or dbt.
- BigQuery ML.
- Dataflow Templates.
- Looker / LookML.
- Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Experience with Databricks, EMR, or other cloud-native data platforms.
Key Responsibilities for Senior GCP Data Engineer:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable batch and real-time data pipelines on GCP.
- Build and optimize enterprise data warehouse solutions using BigQuery.
- Implement data quality, governance, observability, and operational best practices.
- Collaborate with architects, data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver innovative data solutions.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize production data pipelines and workflows.
- Contribute to cloud modernization, automation, CI/CD, and AI/ML initiatives.
- Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, cost-efficient, and aligned with business requirements.
