The Billing Manager oversees the financial transactions for all patient services and ensures that final invoices accurately reflect the care provided. [1]
- Primary Focus: Patient accounts, fee structures, cash payments, and overall revenue management.
- Core Duties:
- Verifying and processing Inpatient (IPD) and Outpatient (OPD) bills.
- Coordinating with hospital departments (pharmacy, nursing, diagnostics) to capture all charges.
- Managing the accounts receivable team to ensure prompt collections.
- Resolving billing discrepancies and patient billing inquiries.
Hospital Insurance ManagerThe Insurance Manager focuses on navigating third-party payers, securing approvals, and managing claim reimbursements. [1
- Primary Focus: Third-Party Administrators (TPAs), insurance companies, and government health schemes (e.g., Ayushman Bharat, CGHS).
- Core Duties:
- Facilitating pre-authorizations and cashless treatment approvals.
- Verifying policy coverages, eligibility, and documentation before admission or treatment.
- Submitting insurance claims and medical records efficiently.
