Job Description

Review mortgage applications and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.
Evaluate borrower eligibility based on credit, income, assets, employment, and collateral information.
Perform detailed analysis of income and employment documentation (paystubs, W-2s, tax returns, VOEs, etc.) to determine qualifying income (if applicable).
Validate assets for down payment, reserves, and closing costs, ensuring proper sourcing and seasoning.
Review preliminary credit reports, identifying potential red flags such as undisclosed debts, inquiries, or inconsistent information.
Ensure loans comply with company policies, investor guidelines and applicable regulations.
Identify missing or incomplete documentation and condition files appropriately for further review.
Communicate clearly with processors, loan officers, and other stakeholders regarding required documentation or issues found.
Document findings, calculations, and justifications in the loan origination system (ZOS).
Work closely with Back-End Underwriters to ensure smooth handoff of files for final review and decision.

Work Experience - 1+ year of US Live Underwriting experience.
