Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Business Performance Analytics

  • Analyze sales, margin, volume, inventory, shrinkage, and profitability trends across:
    • Categories
    • Product families
    • Articles/SKUs
    • Regions
    • States
    • Circles
    • Stores
  • Identify growth and de-growth patterns and recommend corrective action plans.
  • Develop periodic business review dashboards for leadership.

Data-Driven Decision Support

  • Generate actionable insights for:
    • Category Management
    • Buying & Merchandising
    • Supply Chain
    • Operations
  • Conduct root cause analysis for:
    • Sales growth/ decline 
    • Margin up and down 
    • Fast / Slow-moving inventory
    • Excess /Stock-outs
    • inventory
    • Vendor performance gaps

Dashboard & BI Management

  • Develop and manage dashboards using BI tools.
  • Work closely with IT and SAP teams for data integration and automation.
  • Ensure data accuracy, standardization, and reporting governance.
  • Automate recurring reports and business scorecards.

Business Planning & Forecasting

  • Support monthly / quarterly/ half yearly/  annual operating reviews / Plan vs Actual budgeting, forecasting, and demand planning in both packet and loose categories 
  • Build predictive and trend-based analytical models for:
    • Sales forecasting
    • Seasonal planning
    • Inventory optimization
    • Assortment rationalization

Commercial & Retail Analytics

  • Analyze:
    • Basket behavior
    • Consumer buying trends
    • Store productivity
    • Promotional effectiveness
    • Pricing impact
    • Regional consumption patterns
    • Top 100 / Focussed article trends
  • Recommend opportunities for sales acceleration and profitability improvement.

Stakeholder Management

  • Partner with Business Heads, Category Teams, Operations, SCM, and Finance.
  • Present analytical findings and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Drive data culture and analytical capability within business teams.
